a screenwriter coaching experience
Booking a Zoom call is the first step (click any of the red "apply now" buttons on this page). You can choose a time that works for you, and we'll have a 30-45 minute conversation, which lets us get to know each other a bit and see if I we are the right fit for each other. We'll talk about how the program works, and I'll answer any questions you have. After our conversation, if we both think you'd be a good fit for The Screenplay Navigator, I'll share with you instructions on how to complete the sign-up.
Simply, no. Anyone can schedule an online call, but not everyone is ready for a coaching experience and because I'm wanting to cultivate a healthy writing community, I'm careful about who is accepted. But if we both think this will benefit you and be a good fit, I gladly extend an invitation. In truth, I want to help everyone become a better writer, but I also want people in this community who love stories, who love telling stories that matter (or wanting to learn how to do so), who are concerned about others, and who want to participate in a community that helps one another succeed. If that's you, then I want to talk to you. If not, this probably isn't the best option for you.
Every week is different, but the booking calendar integrates with my own calendar, and I try to open available slots each week. I'm located in the Los Angeles area, so I work on the Pacific Time Zone. BUT... my schedule varies from week to week and day to day, so I only release available times for the next couple of weeks from whenever you view the calendar. If the available times you are seeing don't work for your schedule or time zone, we can usually work something out. Just send me an email.
In all seriousness, a better question might be: how much is it worth it to you to transform yourself as a writer? How much will it cost you to stay as you are? I'm interested in transforming you into the writer you want to be, and that takes time and work from both of us. Yes, we will talk about the exact cost when you call, but so you know what to expect, it is in the four figure range (USD). And you get a ton... besides the personal transformation. The Screenplay Navigator includes lifetime access to all content, regular contact with me, twice-a-month group coaching sessions (which include feedback, some teaching, and time for Q&A), and curated content of skills and exercises that I am constantly adding. Plus, you'll have access for one year to The Screenwriting Fast Track - Premium writing course, which is an $1195 value... (and it includes some screenwriting software and some Big Red Stripe swag to boot!!) and that's included for FREE in The Screenplay Navigator. So... the transformation is well worth the price.
Yes. You can split your payment over multiple months. We can chat more about this in our call if you have additional questions.
For full, one-time purchases, I accept all major credit cards and PayPal as long as your country of origin supports those payments. Payment plans can only be processed through major credit cards at this time.
The short answer is: it depends. If your circumstances change in such a way that prevents you from being able to participate in the program, I will work with you. Life happens. As a general guideline, the following refund schedule applies: after two weeks, 75%; after four weeks, 50%; after six weeks, 25%; and after eight weeks, no refunds will be issued. But you also do have lifetime access to the program and its content, AND you can work at your own pace, so if you need to take a break, that's totally acceptable... just come back when you're ready to jump back in.
All Navigator students should be writing in screenwriting software that can export to a PDF. You will also need access to a Zoom compatible system for our online conversations, which also means you need a camera and a mic. Other than that? A great attitude, and a desire to transform your writer-self into a master screenplay navigator.
